Purtroppo, causa un mio errore tecnico, ho cancellato tutta la preesistente discussione riguardante le ultime notizie sul nostro David. Sono riuscita a recuperare, con fatica, dalla memoria cache, solo alcuni dei primi, e alcuni degli ultimi post. In ogni caso, riposto nei messaggi successivi a questo le piu' recenti e fresche notizie. (L'errore e' tutto mio, ma e' avvenuto mentre stavo cercando di spostare un messaggio scritto all'interno di una discussione o sezione sbagliata, operazione non sempre facile. Si tratta di un'intervista a un uomo inglese che ha perso il figlio nella guerra in Iraq, e che quindi ha organizzato una manifestazione davanti alla residenza ufficiale di Blair per protestare contro questa guerra che sta facendo morire tanti giovani, e ha fondato un movimento contro la guerra, e che dia voce a coloro che hanno subito la sua stessa tragedia.
A un certo punto dell'intervista, parlando di come ha trovato la forza e i finanziamenti per realizzare tutto ciò, dice che David Soul gli ha dato il suo supporto, e il giorno prima delle elezioni, gli ha telefonato per augurargli buona fortuna e per dirgli che sperava che tutto andasse bene.
E anche l'amico di David, il corrispondente di guerra politicamente impegnato Martin Bell, ha manifestato insieme a lui.
Ecco..al di là di quali possano essere le opinioni politiche di ognuno, ho sempre ammirato l'impegno sociale di David, sempre pronto a battersi per le giuste cause, come quella della pace!

L'altro giorno sono stata a una libreria qui a Londra con Deb e Sabi, e ho chiesto al banco delle informazioni della autobiografia di David, che sarebbe dovuta uscire in giugno.
Il commesso gentilissimo ha chiamato la casa editrice e gli hanno detto che uscira' in settembre.
Poi, ieri sono andata a una grandissima libreria al centro e mi hanno detto che e' confermato che

The "Mack and Mabel" production with our David, staged at the Watermill the last summer, missed the What's on Stage Award for "Best regional or touring production" for just a little bunch of votes!

La prima edizione del musical di "Mack and Mabel" con il nostro David (quella andata in scena al Watermill, che io e le nostre Deb e Sabi abbiamo potuto ammirare in quei giorni indimenticabili!!!) è arrivata seconda alle votazioni dei prestigiosi "What's on stage award"!!!!
E' infatta stata battuta da un altro spettacolo, ma di pochissimoooo!!! E questo grazie anche ai nostri voti!!!

L'unico dubbio è che, quando ho scritto come volevo far personalizzare il CD, la frase non è entrata tutta, e così sembra priva di senso!!!!

La storia affronta, tra gli altri, i temi delle opposizioni tra Messico e America, della radio,del contrasto tra illusione e realta'; e' un racconto drammatico e pieno di tensione.

Sembra davvero interessante!

Ciao Mery, ho contattato la casa editrice e mi hanno detto che l'uscita dell'autobiografia del nostro David e' stata spostata al 2008...In ogni caso, vale sempre la pena attendere per le cose piu' belle!

Certo, quando uscira' vi mandero' la traduzione di qualche brano, per quel che posso qui, e magari il resto in privato.
E sono io che ringrazio te e gli altri nostri amici per il vostro entusiasmo!

Yesterday, August 25, our David participated to the important Edinburgh TV Festival, in a very special live edition of cult tv show "Jimmy'll fix it"! He realized the dream of an admirer from the TV industry, singing "Don't Give Up On us"! I wished I was there! Hope someone filmed it!

Ieri, 25 Agosto, il nostro David ha partecipato ad una delle giornate dell'importante TV Festival di Edimburgo, all'interno di una specialissima edizione dal vivo del programma culto "Jymmy'll fix it", una trasmissione storica della tv inglese condotta dal dj e attore Jimmy Savile, il quale cerca di realizzare i sogni e desideri degli spettatori. E David ieri ha realizzato quello di un suo ammiratore che lavora nell'industria televisiva, cantando "Don't Give Up On Us"!!! Quanto avrei voluto essere li'! Spero che qualcuno l'abbia filmato e che riusciremo ad avere la registrazione!
Il TV festival di Edimburgo e' una manifestazione durante la quale si svolgono dibattiti e conferenze su importanti temi che riguardano l'industria televisiva, intervallati da performance esclusive. Ne parlavano proprio questa mattina i telegiornali inglesi, poiche' ogni anno vi partecipano le personalita' piu' importanti della televisione britannica, le cui dichiarazioni e esternazioni sono sempre molto "calde" e portano sempre conseguenze sull'andamento dei principali network.

Our David will perform on the 30th of November at the St James Church in Piccadilly, in the centre of London, at 7PM (UK time) for a special event against the war and in favour of the pacifist association Stop War Coalition, with other important actors, representatives of journalism and culture.
The ticket is 15 pounds (in benefit for the association). You can find all the details and how to buy them at this link:

Ciao mitico forum, mi spiace non essere stata cosi presente in queste ultime settimane, questa news è fantastica ma triste solamente perchè David sarà impegnato lo stesso giorno che Paul farà il suo debutto in teatro, così suppongo non andrà a sostenerlo per la sua prima che peccato, non l'avrei mai immaginato!

Beh, america, come sappiamo non e' David che ha deciso la data della rappresentazione, alla quale partecipano altri importanti attori e personalita', e sia Paul che David sono professionisti, quindi sono sicura che saranno felici di potere recitare entrambi in quel giorno. Inoltre, penso proprio che David non sarebbe comunque andato alla prima, data la confusione che ci sara' in quella serata, ma scegliera' sicuramente una data piu' tranquilla ed appropriata per andara ad ammirare il suo Paul.

Sono molto felice che entrambi i nostri guys stiano lavorando e siano sul palco per il 30 Novembre!

Few days ago, November 10, our David delivered a generous tribute to the artista and photographer Yemi Sobo, who was killed with some members of his family one year ago. In the video David also invites to visit the website that support the charity dedicated to the victims - all the proceeds from the sale of the photos will go to the charity, donating instruments to children who can't buy them, and helping the local centre for blood diseases.

Pochissimi giorni fa, il 10 Novembre, il nostro David ha partecipato al tributo per l'artista fotografo nigeriano-inglese Yemi Sobo, che venne ucciso con la sua famiglia (sua sorella con i suoi bimbi). Il tributo, che cade ad un anno dal tragico evento, oltre che a rendere omaggio all'amico e artista, ha lo scopo di raccogliere fondi per l'ente benefico dedicato alle vittime, che oltre a donare strumenti musicali ai bambini du talento che non se li possono permettere, sostiene il centro ematologico per la cura delle malattie del sangue del luogo, vicino Newcastle, in Inghilterra. Nel giorno del tributo, David si trovava in viaggio su un treno della Great North Eastern Railway, ma ha voluto ugulamente inviare il suo messaggio di supporto e sostegno in un filmato girato durante il viaggio, e (come si vede dalle immagini) e' anche sceso appositamente ad una stazione intermedia per parlare con la mamma di Yemi. Nel video David, oltre a ricordare con affetto l'artista, invita tutti a visitare il suo sito, dove si possono trovare i suoi lavori - il ricavato della vendita di ogni foto sara' interamente devoluto in beneficenza - e fare una donazione, a questi link:

Il sito ufficiale del nostro David www.davidsoul.com e' stato aggiornato...pero' ATTENZIONE, il sito parla della conferenza sulla pace del primo dicembre, ecco...Ma in realta' chi ha aggiornato il sito ha molto probabilmente commesso un errore, poiche' ho personalmente contattato l'organizzazione interessata, la Stop War Coalition, che sia al telefono che via e-mail mi ha confermato che David PRENDERA' PARTE allo SPETTACOLO-EVENTO di Venerdi 30 Novembre "The Rhythms of Peace" ("I ritmi della pace", i cui ricavati ricordo andranno a sostegno dell'associazione") e NON prendera' parte alla conferenza del Primo Dicembre. Almeno, questo e' quello che mi ha detto l'associazione...speriamo che la news sia corretta...! incrociate le dita per me che saro' la' sperando di rivedere il mio Daviduccio! :wub:

BTW, a GREAT news that I just read on the Stop War Coalition Website, is that during the event on Friday, the 30th of November, David will SING "his anti-war song accompanied by Eugene on djembe and Dave Randall on guitar (who will also perform with his new group Slovo)"!!! Il sito di David e' stato corretto con la giusta data, cioe' quella del 30 Novembre! E' quindi sicuro che sara' alla St. James Church (Piccadilly-Londra) domani sera, per l'importante evento per la pace, a favore della Stop War Coalition. Che bello! Non vedo l'ora di ammirarlo mentre canta la sua canzone contro la guerra!

Devo anche ringraziare Sylvie, poiche' anche lei ha contattato come me l'associazione per ragguagli.
E un grazie va naturalmente al nostro David per il suo impegno!

Allora, a parte il fatto che devo ancora riprendermi dalla gioia e dalla grande emozione che ho provato quando ho rivisto il mio splendido David poco piu' di una settimana fa, voglio aggiornarvi con alcune notizie non ancora ufficiali, ma molto probabili:
a Marzo, il nostro David interpretera' "Spamalot", il piu' grande successo teatrale del momento a Londra, scritto dai Mony Pytons! In estate, e' in programma un tour musicale nel Sud della Francia, e tra i progetti c'e' anche quello di una serie televisiva che avra' come sfondo importanti problemi attuali e sociali...Ed inoltre, tenetevi forte, perche' il nostro David andra' anche a Cuba, non in questo periodo per fare della musica, ma anche per fare una ricerca sullo scrittore Hemingway che interpretera' in un prossimo film!

First of all, I have to say that I was SO happy to meet again our David on the 30th of November, and to admire him in such a great performance!
Second, I have some news, but they have NOT been officially confirmed yet:
in March, David will perform in "Spamalot" by the Monty Pytons, the most successful theatre play in London at the moment. During the summer, he will tour the South of France with a series of music concerts, and he will also do a tv series about important social issues. And he will go also to Cuba, not only to do some music, but also to make a research about the writer Hemingway, who he will orobably play in a next movie!
David, you are great! We'll keep our fingers crossed for you, so that you'll realize all your projects!

WOW! The 24 of February (just on my birthday!) our David will take part to the special charity show-event "I'd like the world to sing", with Sir Roger Moore, Jeremy Irons and many others. All the proceeds will go to a centre for the cure of patient with respiratory desease. The benefit is a tribute to the voice coach Ian Adams.
I am so happy, I couldn't imagine a better present!

And I have to applaude once again our David, who is always sensitive about the most noble causes, and who always supports such generous and important initiatives. :wub:

EVVIVAAA!!!! Il 24 Febbraio, proprio il giorno del mio compleanno, il nostro David partecipera' allo speciale spettacolo di beneficenza a favore dei malati con problemi respiratori ed in memoria di Ian Adam, il piu' importante istruttore della voce, recentemente scomparso. All'evento, che avra' luogo al teatro Her Majesty's Theatre di Londra e che si intitolera' "I'd like to teach the world to sing", parteciperanno anche grandi nomi come Roger Moore e Jeremy Irons.
Ringrazio di cuore la mia Debby cabrillokid, che e' stata la prima a segnalarmi la notizia! Non avrei potuto immaginare un regalo di compleanno piu' bello! :wub:

E un grandissimo applauso al nostro David che ancora una volta e' in prima linea per un'ottima nobilissima causa, bravissimo David!!!!!! Il tuo cuore e' davvero grande! :wub:
