Our Story

The project was born in 2002 on Amnesiac's initiative, an Italian developer keen on web and computing world, with many work experiences in numerous years into web applications industry.
The project drawing power was the wish to make possible creating custom forums/blogs in a few of clicks, also to less expert users. At exactly the same time was developed by other developers an innovative open source software, based on PHP and MySQL languages, named 'Invision Power Board', that was a perfect point of departure for the ambitious project. So, it was decided to create a free and public service that could reflect all the features of the main project, but that project was obviously requiring heavy modifications of its source code.
On 26th June 2002 ForumFree was officially born, it had a nice reply from the global community from the outset, testified by high statistic values; this continuous growth brought us to scale servers to keep them going, in addition to always invent new solutions to optimize every type of available resource (PHP code, MySQL database, Apache/Linux server).
Since 2003, after the startup period, the business started to collaborate with technical and management employees.
Since the beginning, the project was always funded by little ads placed in users' forums/blogs; thanks to this type of banner, up to this day we have been able to offer a completely free service.
